Liverpool Project

Brand Background & Philosophy

Since its founding in 1847 by Jean-Baptiste Ebrard, Liverpool has grown from a modest trunk selling ribbons and laces in Mexico City to Mexico’s premier department store chain, redefining the fashion industry with its expansive clothing collections and lifestyle offerings. Named after the Port of Liverpool, through which Ebrard imported European merchandise, the brand has evolved into a cultural institution, operating 124 department stores and 186 Suburbia boutiques across 88 cities, alongside 28 shopping malls. Liverpool’s philosophy centers on delivering a complete shopping experience, blending quality clothing, fashionable clothing, and fashion accessories with personalized service, catering to fashion enthusiasts and families alike. Its focus on affordable fashion, including ready-to-wear clothing, custom uniforms, and capsule clothing collections, appeals to diverse consumers, from those seeking everyday wear to special garments for events.

Liverpool’s fashion business thrives on partnerships with global clothing brands like Gap and Banana Republic, offering American-made garments and international clothing through its boutiques. The brand’s commitment to the fashion ecosystem is evident in its robust e-commerce platform, Liverpool Pocket, which saw a 46% SKU increase and 42% growth in active users in 2022, reflecting its adaptation to digital fashion trends. By prioritizing inventory management for fashion and global retail sourcing, Liverpool ensures its clothing suppliers deliver quantities of fashion apparel that meet consumer demands. The brand’s vision is to empower fashion dreams, supporting clothing production clients and fashion brands partners with wholesale garments and private label clothing manufacturers, positioning itself as a leader in Mexico’s clothing manufacturing landscape.

Project with Eton

Since 2012, Eton Global, a Chinese-based garment supplier, has partnered with Liverpool to enhance its apparel production and supply chain efficiency, supporting the retailer’s expansive fashion offerings. Eton’s expertise in garment production and fabric sourcing has enabled Liverpool to deliver quality clothing manufacturing, from active wear to outerwear, across its department stores and e-commerce platforms. Eton optimized Liverpool’s clothing manufacturing process by streamlining tech pack development and garment sampling, ensuring fast fashion suppliers met tight retail schedules. By leveraging Asia garment factories, particularly in China, Eton facilitated the production of custom-made clothing and wholesale garments, aligning with Liverpool’s demand for fashionable clothing at wholesale prices. This collaboration, including recent efforts with brands like Fabletics in 2024, has strengthened Liverpool’s position as a B2B fashion supplier, delivering e-commerce ready clothing supply to meet the needs of its growing digital customer base.
